Product Review: TheFaceShop Oil Control Water Cushion SPF 50 PA+++

Hello everyone!

I am back with another review
This time its a newly launched product that just hit the shelves of stores!

Yes I have already bought this and wore it for three days and I have the review for you right now here!

The product that I’m talking about is…

TheFaceShop Oil Control Water Cushion SPF 50 PA+++

Now we all know that the cushion compact thing is all the rage right now with brands such as Laneige coming out with the first one which “revolutionized” the BB cream and CC cream market

Brands such as Lancome also jumped on the bandwagon and came out with their own cushion product

But the question now is

How good is this product that I’m reviewing now?
Why don’t we look at the details first before we decide hm?

TheFaceShop Oil Control Water Cushion comes in 15g or 0.52 oz of product

It contains cotton powder to absorb oil and oxygen water to moisturise the skin

So fancy kan?

I got this in the color Natural Beige because who doesn’t want to look Au Naturel when you using makeup
Unless you like a cake face of course
In that case please put some frosting as well on your face because it will look delicious!

As mentioned
It promises long lasting freshness with cotton skin and moist cover
So basically they’re saying that your skin will feel fresh like wet cotton on a summer’s day
Wait
Wet Cotton!?
WTF does that even mean!?

You can also buy the refill once you finished up the product and replace it without throwing away the container!

Directions to use are to press the puff on the cushion and lightly pat onto the face
For more coverage on concerned areas you can pat even more product onto the area

My question is this
What if my whole face is the concerned area?

Do I do this?

wHITE CHICKS NOSE POWDER

Then my whole face will be covered!

😀

Korean for your reading pleasure

The cushion recharges skin with moisture while controlling sebum for long lasting freshness
I wonder how many MA it is
Probably 10,000ma because my skin is so weird all the time

Notable ingredients are:

Cyclopentasiloxane, Titanium Dioxide, Niacinamide and Moringa Pterygosperma Seed Oil

Take note that this product is not oil free and is loaded with silicone

This is how the compact looks like from the outside

Sleek and simple
I like it

Not very big
Can fit into the palm of your hand
Or I just have very large hands

Anyway~

The inside of the compact houses a mirror with a place to put your sponge so you won’t dirty it
The mirror is a solid mirror that is suitable for touch up and is not blurry whatsoever

I do however am concerned about the cleanliness of the sponge
After you use it the excess product will collect onto the pan that houses the sponge and this creates an environment for bacteria to grow

So people!
Please remember to disinfect your sponges as well as the pan to prevent your face from breaking out!

This is how the cushion looks like

The cushion is soft to the touch with porous holes to dispense the product without putting too much out

This is how the colour looks like on my skin
The shade looks just right and would be a good match for my skin
Take note that I am NC20 in MAC shades and usually my color is the lightest with yellow undertones for other foundations
For other shade references please do contact me and I will advise

Product has a light scent to it that is not overpowering and will suit those with sensitive noses
However there are only two shades currently in the Malaysian market
The other being Apricot Beige which has a pink to orange undertone to it

This is me without the product on
I have three erupting pimples
One on my chin and two on the side of my forehead

A better view for those who want detail

This is me with the product on

I would say it gives medium coverage with a very moist and dewy finish
Very typical for Korean products
The product smoothed on very nicely and I didn’t have to drag hard on my skin for it to blend out

The sponge that comes with it is very useful for blending it out
However you would find that it is harder for you to blend in the areas such as the side of your nose and under your eyes
For this I recommend using your fingers or a brush

I do strongly advise for those with oily skin to powder this product down because it does not dry matte at all

For drier skin peeps out there
You would have no problems with this as it is very moisturising to the skin although it says that it controls oil

This product lasted about 3 hours on my skin before my T-zone starts to become oily
By the 5th hour my whole face has become oily

Bear in mind that I have very very very oily skin

Verdict:
A product suitable for those who are looking for a convenient way to apply makeup. Just remember to wash the sponge and disinfect the pan.

That’s all for today
