Product Review: Estee Lauder Double Wear Mineral Rich Loose Powder Makeup SPF 12
Yes I will be blogging regularly again!
Aren’t you happy?
I know I am!
Today’s review will be about…
Estee Lauder‘s Double Wear Mineral Riuch Loose Powder Makeup SPF 12
It is formulated for All Skin Types
Bear in mind that this is from the Double Wear line of Estee Lauder and means that it was formulated to last the whole day
This is what the website has to say:
Everything you want mineral makeup to be. Silky smooth, comfortable. Stays fresh and looks natural even through nonstop activity.
12-hour staying power, light as air, comfortable, stays fresh, looks natural, non-stop activity, soft focus, skin perfecting, semi matte, non drying, oil free, oil absorbing, non acnegenic, fragrance free, dermatologist and optimologist different
Now that is a lot to claim!
But what I can tell you is…
It does all of those things!
I got it in the shade intensity 2.0 because 1.0 is pink based and I have a yellow undertone
The ingredients list are as follow:
Active: Titanium Dioxide 2.20%. Other Ingredients: Talc, Zinc Stearate, Caprylyl Methicone, Octyldodecyl Stearoyl Stearate, Bis-Hydroxyethoxypropyl Dimethicone/IPDI Copolymer Ethylcarbamte, Caprylyl Glycol, Hexylene Glycol, Dehydroacetic Acid. May Contain Mica, Iron Oxides, Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide, Yellow 5 Lake, Chromium Oxide Greens, Chromium Hydroxide Green, Ferric Ferrocyanide, Carmine, Bismuth Oxychloride, Blue Lake
Bear in mind it does have Bismuth oxychloridem
But I did not experience any side effects from using this
This is how the packaging looks like
Sleek and ultra luxurious
I actually feel quite happy to have this now
When you open the top compartment up, it contains a puff for you to apply or touch up whenever on the go
This is how the puff looks like
The texture is soft and and feels like a typical puff sponge
When you twist open the powder
You are greeted with a locking mechanism that enables you to control the amount of powder to dispense out and can lock if you’re travelling with it
Good job Estee Lauder!
A close up on the locking mechanism
This is how the powder looks like
The texture is soft and light
It does not have any smell to it
As you can see from the picture above
The coverage is actually quite good
The powder blends very beautifully and I can foresee that a lot of people would like this as a setting powder or just a powder foundation
I use this to set my foundation and oh boy does it do it
I have tested this with a number of foundation which includes:
Urban Decay Naked Skin foundation, Loreal True Match Foundation and Covergirl Outlast Stayn Fabulous Foundation
It works all over a multitude of drugstore and high end foundations
You can also use this as a powder foundation which I have and it gives decent coverage but I still do prefer this as a setting powder because its oil control is admirable!
A good setting powder or powder foundation for those who are looking for a versatile powder. Highly recommend this!
That’s all for today
