Perfume Review: Laura Mercier Eau Gourmande in Almond Coconut

Laura Mercier Almond Coconut

I decided to do something different for my reviews today
So I made a detour and I’m gonna review a perfume for you guys
XD
I shall be reviewing my Laura Mercier Almond Coconut Perfume today
Please do note that I am not an expert when it comes to scents
So please do bear with me
Or IF you can’t
Just click away =D
Here are some pictures of the perfume:
Kinda looks like pee don’t you think? XD
Spray cap dispense perfume quite well
Now on to the perfume scent
AGAIN
I AM NOT A SCENT OR PERFUME EXPERT
The scent reminds me of COOKIES!
Yes my dearies
FRESHLY BAKED COOKIES!
Mai god…
It smells like a angel just peed all over me and dumped me into a tub of fresh cookies left to ferment for 40 days and 40 nights!
Jokes aside
Laura describes this scent as:
Laura Mercier Almond Coconut Eau de Toilette, inspired by the Laura Mercier Body & Bath Gourmande Collection, captures the essence of almond, coconut milk, jasmine, rosewood, ylang-ylang, vanilla, tonka, heliotrope & musk.
SO
How long does the scent last?
Well
It lasted me for at least 8 hours
Whole day in Uni and doing stuff and… Stuff?
Well for me I like smelling like a freshly baked cookie though
But I know for some
The scent might not be appealing to some of you guys
I have a friend who said the perfume smelled powdery
>.<
So anyway
If you like warm scents that reminds you of butter and milk baked into heavenly goodness
Then buy it
If not
Then don’t!
Easy as that huh?

BIRTHDAY!

JELLY!!!
Phone Cover >.<

Thank you to those who gave me presents!
I feel so happy to have you as my friends!

Love,
Evan Chang

Product Review: TheFaceShop Aqua Tinted BB Cream

Hey ya’ll!
I’m back with another BB cream review!
This time its THEFACESHOP Aqua Tinted BB Cream!
The product looks like this:

Please excuse the dirty packaging >.<
Sexy korean back

TheFaceShop claims that this BB cream is:

  • A moisturizing BB cream that contains 70% water that keeps skin fresh, clear, and well-moisturized
  • 70% of this BB cream is water which includes deep ocean water
  • This BB cream glides over skin, leaving the skin feeling cool, refreshed, light and comfortable
  • Contains purslane extract which calms skin and is effective against skin problems
So does it keep up to its claim?
In a nutshell…
YES!But before I go into the review
Here are some pictures to show you how the product looks like:

Beige toned cream
Slightly blended
Fully blended
BB cream without setting powder
With setting powder

Now onto the product review!
The product is packaged in a 12cm squeeze tube
So it is quite easy to carry around
It is quite light as well so there is no problem using it as a travel product
=D

TheFaceShop carries two shades for this BB cream
Which is #1 Light Beige and #2 Natural Beige
The one that I’m using now is #2 Natural Beige and it does adjust to my fair yellow skintone quite well
Again, my MAC shade is NC15 to NC20
It contains SPF20++
Which is considered so-so only for a Malaysian
However
It does fare well if you spend most of your time in air conditioned areas

This BB cream is good for those who wants a hydrating BB cream
So this product should suit Normal/Combination Dry skin
But I myself find this quite suitable for my Oily/Combination skin!
Just goes to show that a product doesn’t necessarily have to go those with a specific skin type!

I use this BB cream as my moisturiser and base
I didn’t notice any breakout until now and it does hydrate my skin
However I find that the oil control for this isn’t good
DUH
It’s a hydrating BB cream >.<

It does contain a fragrance
So for those who are sensitive to fragrance I recommend you to try smelling it in stores first before buying
I do not encourage buying this online though
The fragrance is a florally fresh smell that dissipates after awhile
So there’s no problem there
But I do wish that they make a fragrance for it because I want to buy it XD

It does improve my skin over time
Also I notice a calming effect on my skin when I applied it
Its quite refreshing as well
It is very easy to blend
However
I do notice that it is very watery
So all you need it a very little amount
A little goes a long way

Also
After applying the BB cream
You would notice that it is NOT a matte finish
If you want to make it last longer
I suggest that you apply a setting powder to avoid it from slipping throughout the day
It gives a light to medium coverage
You can see you skin underneath
Which is a good thing!

So to conclude
Scent 3/5
Texture 4/5
Shades 2/5
Packaging 5/5

Would I recommend this to others?
Yes, if you have skin that needs the moisture
No, if you have skin that tends to be very oily or you do not fit in the shade range

Love,
Evan Chang

Product Review: Skin 79 Gold Collection BB cream

I’m….
BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!
Hahaha
Today I’m going to review one of the most famous BB cream
Which is this:
The front
The butt
Yes ma darlings!
Its the Skin79 Gold BB cream!
But FIRST!
Some swatches for you guys!
Half Pump
Slightly Blended
Fully Blended (please excuse my hairy hand)
The amount of product was very little because it was actually the last of the amount that the package held
Which means I was very lucky I could even have a small amount of product to review
ALSO
It shows that I have been using this product for a good amount of time because it was finished!
Now on to the product!
The product comes in a 8.5cm cylinder in height
It is quite light and portable
So there’s not problem there
Also the product is dispensed through a vacuum pump
Which means less product wastage!
Vacuum pump! AWESOME
The BB cream itself is a grey cream that is easily spread and blended
It actually is one of the most blendable BB cream that I have ever used!
It contains SPF 25 PA+++
Which means it should be good in normal days
It does oxidise to your skintone after awhile and it quite suits my NC20 asian skin
Its suppose to be good for aging and dry skin
However
I find that it does help me control my oil and moisturise my combination skin
=D
According to Skin79
It Whitens and Improves Wrinkles because it contain ingredients such as Adenosine and Arbutin
It also says that it contains Gold and Caviar extract to make healthy shiny skin o.O
How the hell did they make extractions from GOLD??
Gold Flakes I understand la
But…
Extracting essence from Gold?
I don’t get it @@
Okay back to the BB cream!
I did notice a change for the better in terms of the tecture of my skin
It does whiten my skin a bit but I think thats because of the SPF in it
Also
It doesn’t break me out and doesn’t clog my pores
So thats quite good!
It does have a kind of powdery smell
I don’t find it overpowering though
On the contrary I find it quite relaxing to smell 😛
SO
To conclude
Packaging 5/5
Texture 5/5
Colour 3/5 Not all skintones can use this BB cream
Effects 4/5
Smell 3/5
So do I recommend to buy this?
Yes If you have fair skin and looking for a good BB cream
No if you have darker skin say like NC30 and above as it may make you look grey
Would I buy this again?
OF COURSE!
Love,
Evan Chang

Product Review: St.Ives Body Wash (Oatmeal & Shea Butter)

Product Review again!
This time its a body wash!
Yes…
I do body product reviews also okay
Don’t think I’m only crazy about makeup 😛
This is how the body wash looks like this:
Notice what it says on the packaging?
NOT TESTED ON ANIMALS
So for those who are against animal testing
Rejoice please XD
Now on to the product
It comes in a squeeze bottle which means you can control the amount you want
And
IT SMELLS HEAVENLY!
It makes me smell like cookies!
Vanilla and Almond cookies in fact
It didn’t break me out or gave me rashes
And my skin did not feel dry after using it
The texture is a creamy like lotion that lathers up nicely
So those who like using cream baths
You may like this as well!
So I really do like using this product after a long day
It just relaxes me…
So the verdict is:
Smell 5/5
Texture 5/5
Packaging 5/5
Love,
Evan

Product Review: Elianto Natural Mineral Loose Powder

TODAY
I shall review one of my staple powders
Which is this:
Simple packaging is the best
My colour is in number 2 Rose Beige
Sifter dispenses the right amount
The puff is handy too

Elianto’s Natural Mineral Loose Powder

Which is not so natural IMO
It contains talc which may make some people break out
So I don’t recommend this product to people who are sensitive to talc
Although for myself I have never broke out with the use of this powder
So i don’t know how it will fare on your skin
HOWEVER
There are good points!
First of all it really sets my make-up which make it lasts the whole day
For those who still don’t know
I HAVE VERY OILY SKIN
Any make-up without powder will just slide of my face like nobodies business
Almost like wearing socks on a newly polished floor!
ANYWAY
It mattifies my face and helps control my sebum secretion
It also help me colour correct my foundation or BB cream if its too light
For me personally
I rather like a matte face compared to a natural looking face because I do have oily skin
So there’s a problem there
There is also a faint scent
Like the scent of minerals? I think
It reminds me of those old lady make-up
BUT
It does fade after you put it on your face
So no problem there for me
I’m not really sensitive to scents make-up wise
I usually set my make-up with this powder with a kabuki brush
Just dispense a appropriate amount onto the lid and swirl the kabuki brush in
And just press the brush onto your face so you don’t move the foundation/BB cream
It sets my make up perfectly!
So to conclude
Would I recommend this product?
Definitely!
Unless you are sensitive to talc of course
Then you have to find another loose powder
Which is may review in the future =P

Evan Chang

Product Review: Holika Holika Clearing Petit BB Cream SPF30 PA+++ Review

A BB cream with Acne Fighting Ingredients?!

Hey everyone!
I’m back with another BB cream review
Since I’m a guy
I only review face make up products and skin care products
So don’t expect me to review eye make up yeah (except eyeliner because I use it sometimes)
Here is how the product looks like:
You can see it comes in a very portable packaging
The packaging is 12cm in height and 3cm in length
Which means it is quite easy to carry it around!
The amount you get is 30ml
Which is a normal amount for a BB cream!
It dispenses the product with a squeeze tube
But you have to be careful of squeezing too much!
It retails at about RM30++ (not sure)
Which is very affordable!
This is how the BB cream looks like:
A yellowish beigey tinge which comes out natural
This is how it looks like blended

Just like their BB cream for men
It looks quite natural when blended out
It does have a faint scent but it dissipates when you blend it out
It smells kinda floral and does not smell like tea tree oil
Colour wise it will oxidise to your skin when you leave it for about a minute
It offers medium to full coverage also!

This is me after applying the BB cream:
It does looks a bit lighter than my skin because I’m a bit tanner now
DAMN
Anyway
Just set it with a bit of powder and it will last the whole day
Because
The finish of the BB cream is MATTE!
Yes you read it right
MATTE!
Hallelujah for those fair and oily skin peeps out there!
It does control oil for about 6 hours
Which is really good for a BB cream!
Oh and it did not made me break out
So for those who says BB cream blocks your pores
As long as you take it off properly and don’t sleep in it
You should be fine!
So overall:
Scent 4/5
Colour 4/5
Packaging 3/5
Blendability 4/5
Coverage: Medium to Full
Conclusion:
This BB cream is good for fair oily skinned people and it offers a SPF of 30PA++
However it is a bit hard to blend and the smell may not appeal to some
Overall it is a good product if you’re looking for a medium to full coverage BB cream
Love,
Evan Chang

You be trolling round the mountain

Is anyone being sick of something called trolling thats being a trend now?
Let me get a definition from Wikipedia:
“In Internet slang, a troll is someone who posts inflammatory,[2] extraneous, or off-topic messages in an online community, such as a forum, chat room, or blog, with the primary intent of provoking readers into an emotional response[3] or of otherwise disrupting normal on-topic discussion.[4] The noun troll may refer to the provocative message itself, as in: “That was an excellent troll you posted.”
While the word troll and its associated verb trolling are associated with Internet discourse, media attention in recent years has made such labels subjective, with trolling describing intentionally provocative actions and harassment outside of an online context. For example, mass media has used troll to describe “a person who defaces Internet tribute sites with the aim of causing grief to families.”[5][6]”
For those who did not bother to read
Trolling is simply making someone infuriated/angry with your non-logical remarks
Yeah it kinda pisses me off
Trolling someone doesn’t make you smarter not better
It makes you a prick
Thats right
A PRICK
(or jerk however you want to call it)
Basically
You’re just being a god damned asshole
So stop trolling
Be sarcastic instead XD

Evan Chang

Product Review: MAC Fix+

Product Review: Mac Fix+

Hey guys! I’m back with another product review!
This time its the raved about MAC Fix+
Here are some pictures of it:
Opaque bottle
Spray lock
Back of the product

Now on to the review

Basically this is just you normal face spray
It has some ingredients good for the skin
It can be used as a toner and as a setting spray for you make up
The way I use this is just as a refresher spray
I tried it for setting my make up but I didn’t like it
It has a nice soothing scent to it that I find relaxing
AND FYI
I hate the smell of lavender!

HOWEVER
I find the price ridiculous!
MAC sells it for more than RM50++
For a bottle of water with some beneficial ingredients
Its much better if you spray something else on your face lor!
If you know what I mean 😛

So overall,

Scent 4/5
Packaging 4/5
Price 1/5

Evan Chang
