I’m a guy so I shouldn’t wear makeup? Really?

Hi guys!

So recently I’ve been meeting some new people

But they get turned off when I told them I’m into beauty products and I use and review them on blog

Been getting this from quite a few people that I spoken to

Then I thought to myself
Why?

I mean
Is there even a unknown rule that men can’t use makeup and beauty products?
What harm is there in trying to make yourself look presentable?

Not everyone is blessed with good and healthy skin
Having pimples on your face where everyone looks first, sometimes even the pimples has pus in it.
Be honest
Its a turn off to see on a person’s face
Even having one on your face freak you out

Now imagine having to battle with multiple pimples everyday
Redness, scars, pus and dark spots on your face because of it

Could you imagine if your not using anything to try and recover your skin from them?
Could you imagine how will it be when you need to go an interview?

Very demotivating right?

Let’s face it
The world is a materialistic place, people are attracted to you because you look good and because of that you’re confident about yourself because you know that people notice that you take care of your image

Guys
Come on
Imagine you’re gonna go on a date with a hot girl the next day and when you wake up in the morning you see a whopping zit right in the middle of your forehead in between your eyes
How do you feel?

Put yourself in the shoes of someone who is battling acne for years now
They have to endure that humiliating feeling every single day

Some of you may be thinking to yourself that I’m just whining and complaining for nothing
But if I gave you the offer of trading my skin with yours would you want to?

Exactly

Makeup and skincare is both my passion and a way for me express myself
It also helps to gain back some amount of confidence to make me feel good about myself
But at the end of the day

It’s just makeup!
There nothing wrong with using it whether you’re a guy or a girl

Why put yourself into a stereotype of masculinity and femininity when you can be happy for yourself?

Let me know what you guys think in the comments below

That’s all for today

Love,

  1. if it’s just foundation/concealer to cover the flaw.. im still okay with that.. but not smoky eyes with heavy-lined eyes and red cheeks complete with red lips :/

    • Of course not, I think if guys did that girls would be freaked out even more
Except for drag queens of course
      HAHA

  2. I used to think it was weird for guys to use makeup, but nowadays I think it’s pretty normal. 😀 After all, everybody wants to look good, including guys. Plus, there are lots of Korean brands out there with products (BB cream, concealer, skincare) that cater to guys, so I really hope that more people will become more perceptive to this phenomenon. 🙂
*thumbs up* Ignore the haters, and keep up the good work! XD

  3. Putting on makeup for better looking is okay but are you sissy ?’
What I mean like if you are still behave like a man, macho, harsh voice then i think no body will have an issue of guy putting on makeup (for sure not colorful one) !

    Anyways, quite interesting article !
    Gambateh ~

    • Define sissy please
Like I said why put yourself into an idea of masculinity and femininity?

      Thank you for reading

  4. I see no reason why guys shouldn’t put on make up. Make up to make yourself look better or more presentable is something we should all do. Regardless of gender.

N I love this post and supports it.
Nice job well done n keep up the good work! ^^

  5. i think it is okay to use beauty products and skincare products to make one look presentable to others. Just that most people have this concept when a man said they use beauty products means “full blown makeup complete with eyeshadow, lipstick, blusher) while it can just simply mean using bathing products, perfume, lipbalm and some moisturiser. I don’t see anything wrong with taking care of one selves. Yeah, having a face full with cystic like me had make me very low with confidence.
